Skulduggery Pleasant | Derek Landy

These are hilarious books about a funny skeleton in a suit and his spritely companion, Valkyrie Cain. They are great because they have a good story, and joke around with it, making even the darkest of scenes laughable, and they will always make you smile if you read them. Though, saying this, books gradually get progressively less light hearted and fun, and more repetitiveness and confusion and drabness. But they are still good, and worth the read if you can get them. These are  amazing books with great story, characters, and originality. This series is about how everyone 15 and over has vanished, and where they were is surrounded by a dome: The FAYZ. I love how these books get better and better over time, and I love the character development, and how you really grow to love and understand the characters, and get sad when they die, rather than most books where you don't get that sad when that happens. The series is  also story rich, and it inches closer to the finale, without completely overwhelming the rest of the stories. Another thing I love is  that though it is a fictional story about trapped kids with superpowers,  the problems they face are quite realistic, and Caine and Drake are the perfect villains that you grow to dislike immensely One fault I have with this series is the fact that the first book takes a while to kick off, but after that, it is fantastic.
